I came across a rather humorous comment in SAP code while debugging with a colleague the other day. It gave me a chuckle and I thought I would share it here. Read on for more regarding “the new spaceship BERID”!
The New Spaceship BERID
The comment is found in an availability check program and states:
* these are the adventures of the new spaceship BERID; * she intrudes into MRP areas where no man has gone before;
BERID is SAP’s field name representing the MRP Area. I’m not sure if the developer was just overly enthusiastic about coding the perhaps new MRP Area function. Or maybe they were trying to inject a little excitement where none really existed. Either way, it was a funny thing to stumble upon while neck deep in an availability check issue. I appreciated the laugh.
It’s worth noting that I am not the first one to make this discovery. A quick google search found a post on the SAP Community site with this and many other amusing comments. Check them out if you have a couple minutes.
Have you stumbled upon an amusing SAP moment? …or have you created some? I’d love to know more. Post a comment below. Thanks for reading.
